ADB to Power MHP-Based HD Interactive TV for Indonesian Pay-TV Operator, First Media

Geneva-based set-top box/digital TV technology provider, Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB), said Tuesday that Indonesian pay-TV operator, First Media, will use its products and solutions to deploy what it bills as Indonesia's first HD pay-TV service. The deal is ADB's first in the Indonesian market. According to the company, its technologies will enable First Media customers to access a range of advanced services, including interactive TV and VOD, in addition to HDTV.

Widevine to Protect Content on EchoStar STB's Equipped with Sling Media's TV Placeshifting Technology

Content protection and video optimization specialist, Widevine, said Tuesday that EchoStar's EchoStar Technologies and Sling Media subsidiaries have selected its DRM solution for the protection of content delivered by EchoStar's SlingLoaded set-top boxes (i.e. set-tops equipped with Sling Media's TV placeshifting technology, which allows users to watch and control their home TV remotely via desktop PC, Mac, laptop and a range of smartphones).
