[itvt] is pleased to present a video recording of the TVOT 2014 session, "The Dragons of Design: What Is TV Becoming and How Do We Design for It?" The session was described in the show brochure as follows:

"With more channels of linear programming than ever before and the inexorable rise of video-on-demand and cloud-based DVR services; with OTT services like Netflix, Hulu Plus and Prime Instant Video streaming content to the TV; with the mind-boggling diversity of devices connected to TV; with the explosion of TV apps and social feeds enhancing programs in real time; with interactive services that turn the TV into a hub for audience participation, home automation, gaming and personal lifestyle feeds; with voice, gesture, and touch controls reducing friction--what is TV going to look like over the next five to ten years?

This session, which brings together some of the most prominent UX/UI designers working in television today--the 'Dragons of Design'--will explore how to visually present this increasingly complex entertainment and lifestyle ecosystem to the madding crowd. Questions to be addressed include: How will we aggregate our content options and present them in a clean, intuitive, uncluttered and understandable interface? What does personalized TV look like?
