Jean Picker Firstenberg and Nick DeMartino

ITVT is pleased to present an excerpt from the new book, "Becoming AFI: 50 Years of the American Film Institute" by Jean Picker Firstenberg and James Hindman (with chapters contributed by a number of other experts and key figures in the AFI's history).

The excerpt is from "AFI and the Digital World," a chapter authored by Nick DeMartino, founder of the AFI Digital Content Lab--an organization that played a seminal role in the development of the interactive/advanced-TV industry in the US.

Jean Picker Firstenberg, who was President and CEO of the AFI from 1980 to 2007, will be featured October 26th at a Writers Bloc Presents event in Beverly Hills, in conversation with former AFI trustee--and ex-Monkee, Michael Nesmith. More information on the event, including how to buy tickets, can be found here.
