South African-born filmmaker, Tosca Musk, is co-founder and CEO of Passionflix, a new SVOD service which recently raised $4.75 million in seed money from a group of investors that includes "All In the Family" creator, Norman Lear, angel investor, Jason Calacanis, and entrepreneur, Kimbal Musk, among others.

The $5.99-per-month service, which describes itself as "female-centric" and as catering to "the multi-billion dollar romance-novel community," features both curated and original content. The latter is generated via partnerships with prominent romance authors, such as Sylvia Day, Jill Shalvis, Rachel Van Dyken and Brenda Jackson. According to Musk--who co-founded the company with TV-movie veterans, screenwriter Joany Kane and producer Jina Panebianco--Passionflix is currently producing its original titles for around $1 million a piece and aiming to release them every two months.

ITVT is pleased to present a video interview with Musk that was conducted by our frequent collaborator, Colin Dixon, founder and Chief Analyst of nScreenMedia (http://www.nscreenmedia.com), a company that provides extensive coverage and analysis of the multiscreen OTT space.
