New Event Will Examine How Advanced-TV/Video Technologies Can Improve Disaster Preparedness and Recovery

ITVT would like to encourage our readers to attend what promises to be an important and informative event, produced by LAVA Digital Media.

Entitled "High Tech in a Dangerous World: How Next Gen TV, AI/AR/VR 'Save the Day' from Disaster," the event will take place 12:30-3:00PM on Monday, September 17th at the Arizona State University California Center (725 Arizona Ave., Santa Monica, CA).

It will examine how ATSC 3.0 and other advanced-TV/video technologies can improve our ability to anticipate, withstand and recover from disaster; and will feature, among other things, a panel discussion, demos of ATSC 3.0-powered emergency-response prototypes, a "quick-pitch" session with industry and investor judges, and exploration of the many business opportunities at the intersection of disaster preparedness/recovery and advanced-TV/video.

Featured participants will include John Lawson, Executive Director of the Advanced Warning and Response Network (AWARN) Alliance; the AWARN Alliance's Deputy Director, Fiona James; Pat Feldhausen, Product Manager at The Weather Company; Ron Prater, Executive Director of Big City Emergency Managers, Inc. (BCEM); and interactive-TV industry stalwart, Allison Dollar, CEO of the ITV Alliance.

Free to LAVA members and priced at just $50 for non-members, the event will also provide lunch and beverages.
