Deutsche Telekom's T-Home Taps emuse for VOD Promotion Application
Dublin, Ireland-based interactive TV authoring solutions provider, emuse, has been tapped by T-Home, the Microsoft Mediaroom-powered IPTV service of German incumbent telco, Deutsche Telekom, to develop a 24/7 application, called Videoload Presenter Entertain Inside, that offers subscribers VOD content recommendations, trailers, reviews and promos. According to the companies, the application provides subscribers with an improved experience when browsing and purchasing VOD content, and also enables new marketing and promotion opportunities to increase the uptake of premium VOD offerings. emuse says that the app enables T-Home to "logically group together VOD content in a number of sections," and that it also facilitates "full measurement," allowing usage and subsequent VOD purchases to be tracked and quantified. The app is managed by Deutsche Telekom's production team: its content management is enabled through emuse's Raven content management system, which has been integrated with Deutsche Telekom's production environment. "Videoload Presenter Entertain Inside has provided us with an opportunity to further utilize our skills working in Microsoft Mediaroom," emuse CEO, Patrick Rainsford, said in a prepared statement. "Working on another innovative project with Deutsche Telekom enhances both their position in the market and ours." (Note: emuse and Deutsche Telekom also recently teamed on an application called "Bundesliga Interaktive" that features coverage of up to nine concurrent live soccer matches every game weekend; lets viewers watch a variety of those games simultaneously; and also lets viewers access catch-up footage of select game highlights as little as 30 seconds after the highlighted events occur, as well as club updates, player news and match statistics. For more on that application, see [itvt] Issue 8.06 Part 3B.)
