Firefox 3.5, the soon-to-launch next-generation version of Mozilla's open-source Web browser (note: a beta version is currently available for download), will feature a built-in video player that will offer a range of interactive features--including the ability to place links and other interactive elements within a video--thanks to its support for HTML5.
Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's director of Firefox, recently demo'd the interactive capabilities of the Firefox 3.5 video player--which is based on the open-source video formats, Ogg Vorbis and Theora--to Erick Schonfeld of the high-tech blog, TechCrunch. Video of the demo is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tLBLVtIk3A. In addition, an interactive demo of some of the Firefox 3.5 video player's interactive features can be accessed (provided one has already installed Firefox 3.5 beta) at: http://people.mozilla.com/~prouget/demos/DynamicContentInjection/play.xhtml
