Comcast-owned white-label video management and publishing company, thePlatform, will announce today (Thursday) that 20 more companies--including Google (AdSense)--have recently jointed its thePlatform Framework partner program. According to the company, the vast majority of these partners' newly integrated solutions are currently in production or trial with its customers. thePlatform says that the ongoing growth of the partner program means that its open Media Publishing System (MPS) now has an "even broader menu of pre-integrated service and technology choices to serve the professional online video market."
The new additions bring the number of companies now participating in thePlatform Framework to over 80--which, thePlatform says, means that the program now "spans the entire ecosystem of online video," including advertising campaign management systems, ad sales networks, analytics and reporting, content delivery networks, content protection, media formats, transcoding engines, payment processors, syndication outlets and video search. "In an increasingly robust online video environment, media companies want the flexibility to integrate and test new technologies that best suit their business needs without worrying about compatibility issues," thePlatform's VP of marketing, Marty Roberts, said in a prepared statement. "Our role is to make online video publishing a seamless process for our customers and allow them to easily publish their content regardless of the technical requirements. thePlatform's Framework is key to that strategy, and it enables our customers to work with a wide variety of best-in-class companies in the online video space."
thePlatform publishes video and other media to PC's, mobile devices and the TV. The company bills its Media Publishing System as an open, central hub that manages, monetizes and syndicates "billions" of professionally produced online video views each year. The thePlatform Framework partner program, which is designed to provide the company's customers with a broad range of pre-integrated partner services and technologies, provides members with SDK's, engineering support, training, and development sandboxes for quick implementation. The new members include advertising and monetization specialists, Auditude, BrightRoll, EyeWonder, Google AdSense, and YuMe; asset management, transport and protection specialists, Aspera and Platformic; community creation specialist, Gloto; content delivery specialists, CDNetworks, Nokeena Networks (content delivery infrastructure), StreamGuys, and Velocix; content syndication and discovery specialists, EveryZing, Goodmail Systems, Loomia, The Filter, and Transpond; mobile specialists, Azuki Systems and Transpera; reporting and analytics specialists, MediaMorph, TubeMogul, Visible Measures, and Webtrends; and transcoding specialist, RadiantGrid Technologies.
