Lifetime Movie Network Lets Viewers Choose Movies for Friday Night Slots
Lifetime Movie Network, which claims to be the number-two-rated women's channel in the US after its sister channel, Lifetime Television, announced Monday an interactive promotion, called "Pick-A-Flick Fridays," under which viewers will help decide which film it airs in the Friday 8:00PM and 10:00PM Eastern slots. Viewers interested in participating can cast their vote at http://www.myLifetime.com/flick for the movie they would like to see airing the following Friday. They are presented with five choices, and can vote as many times as they like.
The first five choices for the Pick-A-Flick Fridays promotion (note: the winner will air this Friday, October 9th) are "Maid of Honor" (centers on a woman's jealousy over the engagement of her secret love), "The Last Trimester" (centers on the murder of a newborn); "Cries in the Dark" (centers on a female cop whose sister is murdered); "A Teacher's Crime" (centers on a teacher who is blackmailed by the father of one of her students); and "Double Cross" (a murder mystery about women in unhappy marriages). In the coming weeks, Lifetime Movie Network says, Pick-A-Flick Fridays choices will be specially themed: for example, the choices for October 16th will feature romantic love stories; the choices for October 23rd will feature bad relationships; and the choices for October 30th will, naturally, be Halloween-themed.
