EroticVision.TV Launches OTT Adult Entertainment Service on Roku

An adult entertainment company called EroticVision.TV (EVTV) has announced the launch of an over-the-top-TV service for the Roku platform, and says that it is currently developing similar services for other connected TV devices and platforms. At launch, the service features SD and HD content from fetish/BDSM Web site,, though it is expected to offer access to other broadband video pornography sites over time.

According to EroticVision.TV's press materials, in order to access the new Roku-based OTT service, subscribers to participating broadband video Web sites "simply perform a one-time registration of their player" (note: more detail on the registration process is available here). An EroticVision.TV application then appears on the Roku Player, which features parental controls to restrict access to adults, the company says, and users can then add content from participating sites using their Internet browser. Clicking an "EVTV badge" on the screen makes their selections "appear on their home theater, ready to play," the company adds. (Note: As NewTeeVee's Ryan Lawler points out, EVTV's new service is not officially sanctioned by Roku and is not offered in the company's Channel Store.) "As the owner of, I see EroticVision.TV's solution for the Roku Digital Video Player as right up there with the second coming," CEO Colin Rowntree said in a prepared statement. "EroticVision.TV solves the multitude of problems adult entertainment companies have struggled with in deploying IPTV solutions to consumers. With an open platform like Roku, customers aren't buying a device just for porn, but something capable of delivering a variety of content choices on TV. The EroticVision.TV adult channel is nicely stashed away and password protected so that a flick of a remote button lets John Q. Public watch high-definition adult films from and any other content providers that partner with EroticVision.TV." (H/t
