Strategy & Technology Appoints Ex-OpenTV Exec as Director of Sales for the Americas

Strategy & Technology--a UK-based provider of interactive TV playout systems and middleware, which recently received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of the significant growth in international sales of its products that it has achieved over the past four years (see the article published on itvt.com, April 21st)--said Wednesday that it has hired Vincenzo (Enzo) D'Anna as director of sales for the Americas.

D'Anna joins the company from interactive TV and advanced advertising technology provider, OpenTV, where he has worked since 2005. According to S&T, he was originally employed at that company in software engineering and was then promoted to senior account manager for North American sales. The company says that that role saw him managing three multi-million dollar accounts, including DISH Network, as well as being responsible for middleware sales across North America. Prior to his stint at OpenTV, S&T says, D'Anna was "involved in some of the first ITV content ever released in the US with EchoStar Technologies." "With the considerable success we're having in the US marketplace, D'Anna was a natural choice for us," S&T managing director, David Cutts, said in a prepared statement. "We needed a technical and commercial expert for our established product, TSBroadcaster, as well as someone who could see and run with the potential of the recently launched TSMonitor, as well as further establishing us in the EBIF marketplace." Added D'Anna: "S&T is at the forefront of the interactive push and I'm proud to be working alongside an incredible team to further the advancement. Following a strong performance at the Cable Show, I couldn't have joined at a better time and am looking forward to turning interest and demonstrations into sales."
