--ITV App Demo and Test System Combines enableTV's DV-TIDE with S3's StormTest Developer Station
enableTV, the interactive TV software and services that in 2008 was spun out of Vidiom Systems by Vidiom founder, Tim Wahlers (see the article published on itvt.com, September 29th, 2008), last week announced its InterActive TV Application Center, which it bills as a "fully integrated solution providing a robust interactive application delivery and test system." The company is demo'ing the solution at this week's CableLabs 2010 Summer Conference in Keystone, CO (August 15th-18th).
According to enableTV, the desktop-based system allows operators, programmers and other content creators to demonstrate applications on multiple set-top boxes for the interactive application marketplace without the expense of a headend. The solution suite brings together enableTV's DV-TIDE PC-based headend solution for ETV/EBIF and OCAP/tru2way application delivery (note: for more on DV-TIDE, see the article published on itvt.com, May 16th) and the StormTest Developer Station from S3 Group, a company with which enableTV says it has recently formed a reseller relationship (note: more information on S3 Group's StormTest set-top box test and analysis system is available here). "The innovations resulting from the combination of our DV-TIDE, coupled with S3 Group's StormTest Developer Station, allow operators, programmers and creatives in both the advertising and content space to fully demonstrate, test and view applications down to the TV screen," enableTV founder and president, Tim Wahlers, said in a prepared statement. Added S3 Group's VP of TV technology, Philip Brennan: "We are pleased to be working with enableTV to bring our StormTest industry-leading test automation technology to the application development community in North America. We believe that the InterActive TV Application Center provides everything that an application developer needs to develop, test and demonstrate compelling new applications to their customers."
