- Cork, Ireland-based digital TV technology provider, Digisoft, has announced that it has extended its relationship with Moscow-based Personal Media Technology (PMT) to provide the latter with its DigiHost Service Delivery Platform for the delivery of terrestrial TV channels. "The launch of terrestrial TV Services will augment PMT's groundbreaking personalized TV offering called OViVO," Digisoft states in its press materials. "OViVO is a new personalized digital TV platform that organizes the user's TV viewing for them. The system analyzes viewing choices, learns what a viewer likes and assembles playlists. The more the viewer watches TV, the better its recommendations. The platform also enables advertisers to deliver personalized ads to their target-audience. Video content will be delivered to customers over an intelligent, customer-aware content delivery IP network and stored within in-home set-top boxes. Using a TV-based user interface, customers can browse, select, and play stored video content or launch applications. The solution includes a fully integrated video recommendation engine which enables OViVO to generate customized playlists for each end-user based on their viewing habits and demographics. The new terrestrial TV service will extend the viewing choices to customers by providing linear TV channels and services to complement the personalized service."
- VOD and IPTV technology provider, Espial, has announced that it has partnered with BTI Systems on a joint solution that "combines the Espial MediaBase on-demand video platform with the BTI WideCast 200 and 300 Edge Services appliances," and thus "bring[s] Espial MediaBase to the far edge of the network."
- GoBackTV, a provider of digital video headend and edge solutions, and Nordija, a provider of widget-based IPTV solutions, have announced that Nordija has integrated support for the GoBackTV Mosaic Generator into its fokusOn ITV platform. "The GoBackTV Mosaic Generator augments Nordija's fokusOn Mosaic Widget, allowing operators to select a fixed array of up to 16 live channels to display at the same time, with selectable audio," the companies state in their press materials. "The fokusOn Mosaic interface also allows subscribers to view any of the channels full-screen, by pressing a button on the remote control. With this combination, subscribers can watch multiple channels simultaneously, and also use the mosaic as a navigation tool."
