iN Demand to Promote Cable VOD Movies to Consumers Ordering Pizza from

Cable industry-backed VOD programming distributor, iN Demand, said Tuesday that it has teamed with Pizza Hut and the latter's digital agency, Triad Digital Media, to be the featured content provider for a new online offering from Pizza Hut, dubbed "Entertainment Hut," that was developed and is managed by Triad (note: the latter is also the exclusive sales agent for the service). As a result of the deal, iN Demand says, consumers who order a pizza via the order page at, will be able to view a range of promotional content for its line-up of on-demand movies, including movie trailers, video clips, movie trivia, and a list of movie suggestions featuring titles that can currently be ordered from their local cable operator's VOD service.

According to iN Demand, its cross-promotional partnership with Pizza Hut is "a logical connection to an audience that is planning to enjoy a meal at home and might be looking for an entertainment complement to their dining experience." The company says that the VOD movies showcased through the Entertainment Hut service will be family-oriented, and will included comedies, action movies and children's titles. "This partnership is the perfect synergy between two in-home convenience products: the Pizza Hut home delivery service and the MOD cable platform," iN Demand's chief creative officer, Stacie Gray, said in a prepared statement. "Pizza Hut's dynamic Entertainment Hut is an original concept that keeps customers entertained online while waiting for their delivery. This partnership gives Pizza Hut a brand association with Hollywood's top-tier movie content, and consumers get an added menu item: new-release movies they can enjoy instantly on cable. It's the perfect recipe for a great night in." Added Armando Garza, Pizza Hut's senior director of CRM: "The ability to offer our customers entertainment options in between the time they place the order and when it's ready is a unique offering that we are very excited to provide."
