At its European Forum 2011 event in Budapest last week, Samsung revealed to the UK high-tech trade publication, Pocket-lint, that its upcoming D7000 and D8000 connected-TV product ranges will support wireless streaming of live TV shows to compatible tablets and smartphones. "Both the newly announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 [tablet] and Samsung Galaxy S II [smartphone] will be able to make use of the televisions' second tuner, effectively turning them into second sets to watch around the home," Rik Henderson wrote in Pocket-lint. Henderson added that it is still unclear whether the new functionality will work on the previous generation of the Galaxy Tab, on other Samsung smartphones, or on the company's new Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 and Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 PMP devices.
