Just one day after announcing that it planned to realize approximately $5 million in annualized cost reductions primarily through a reduction in its headcount (see the article published on itvt.com, January 31st), multiplatform video software company, SeaChange International, announced that high-profile executive, Yvette Kanouff, is leaving the company. Kanouff, who joined the company in 1997, was serving as its president, after a stint as chief strategy officer.
SeaChange says that it has decided not to replace Kanouff and has eliminated the position of president as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce costs and streamline its business. "Over the past few months, Yvette has been discussing her desire to pursue other interests and we support that and wish her well," SeaChange interim CEO, Raghu Rau, said in a prepared statement. "We sincerely thank Yvette for her years of dedication to SeaChange, her technical knowledge, and her contributions toward building the company's video-on-demand business." Added Kanouff: "I'm proud that I played a significant role in establishing SeaChange as a leader in video-on-demand worldwide and in transitioning from a hardware-centric to a software-centric company. I think SeaChange is well positioned for the future; however, it is the right time for me to move on, and I look forward to my next endeavor."
SeaChange has seen a number of changes in its senior management team over the past few months. Rau replaced the company's founder, Bill Styslinger, as interim CEO in November (see the article published on itvt.com, November 30th); and the company recently appointed Michael Bornak as CFO, replacing Kevin Bisson (see the article published on itvt.com, January 17th).
