--Is Tapped by NBC to Provide Two-Screen Application for the Olympics

LiveHive Systems, an Ontario-based company that specializes in
two-screen interactive TV solutions, is partnering with automaker,
Nissan, on a two-screen ITV application to accompany CFL telecasts
(note: the company has also been tapped by NBC to provide a
two-screen ITV application to accompany its coverage of the Beijing
Olympics--see article in this issue). The application, which is entitled
"Nissan Make the Call" and which launched in late June, will be
available with 72 regular-season games, as well as with playoff games,

CBS, NBC Tap AirPlay for Multiplayer Interactive TV Gaming

AirPlay, a San Francisco-based company that specializes in enabling
multiplayer, play-along mobile and Web-based gaming for TV shows
(note: the company's offerings include "NFL Call-the-Play Football,"
"NBA Realtime Fantasy" and "Deal or No Deal: Live TV Challenge";

by CBS to provide a live, interactive experience for the reality show,
"Big Brother 10." Since July 10th, viewers of the show have been able

Welsh Broadcaster, S4C, to Offer English-Language Commentary via ITV

UK Welsh-language broadcaster, S4C, which in 2005 signed a
long-term interactive TV infrastructure and services deal with emuse,
has announced plans to offer English-language commentary, via the red
button, for its coverage of soccer and rugby. Until now, the coverage
has been presented in Welsh, with English subtitles. The new
application will be available in Wales on S4C on Freeview, Freesat,
and Virgin TV, and on S4C's digital channel, S4C Digidol, on Sky. In
the rest of the UK, it will be available on S4C on Sky and Freesat.

multiscreen interactive TV service in association with the annual

Navic's HyperCast Network Now Supports ETV/EBIF

Interactive TV and addressable advertising technology provider, Navic
Networks, says that its HyperCast Network, a backoffice solution for
delivering and managing interactive TV advertising content across
platforms and operators, is now compatible with the US cable
industry's ETV/EBIF standard (which is designed to enable interactive
TV applications--primarily bound apps--run on low-resource legacy
set-top boxes, and thereby to have a national footprint). According to
the company, in addition to now supporting EBIF user agents and
delivery systems, HyperCast is compatible with other backoffice
