BBC America is teaming with location-based social-media service, Foursquare, in an attempt to seed TV viewing parties in pubs and restaurants for its live coverage of the RBS 6 Nations Rugby Championship.

Inview Interactive Taps Radio Times to Provide Branded Freeview EPG

BBC Worldwide-owned TV listings magazine, Radio Times, has been tapped by EPG specialist, Inview Interactive, to provide a branded EPG for the UK's free-to-air digital terrestrial platform, Freeview, replacing Inview's existing Teletext Extra guide. The EPG, branded as Radio Times Extra and slated to be available on 37 Freeview set-top models from 21 different manufacturers (which collectively serve around 3.8 million Freeview households), offers 14 days of programming listings and synopses and some editorial content, including daily programming picks.

BBC Future Media & Technology Director, Erik Huggers, to Head Up Intel's Digital Home Group

Erik Huggers, the Dutch-born former Microsoft and Endemol executive who has served as director of the BBC's Future Media & Technology division since August, 2008 (prior to that, he served as its group controller--for more background on Huggers, see the article published on itvt.com, August 8th, 2008), is leaving the corporation to become corporate VP and general manager of Intel's Silicon Valley-based Digital Home Group. Huggers, who replaces interim general manager, Brad Daniels, will also sit on Intel's Management Committee.

BBC Trust Releases Provisional Conclusions of Review of Syndication Policy for VOD Programming
