--DISH Network in Conditional Access System Agreement with Kudelski's Nagravision
VOD and advanced advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, announced Tuesday that satellite TV provider, DISH Network, is upgrading its entire platform of SeaChange Spot advertising insertion systems to meet what it claims is a growing demand for HD ad placements across its North American footprint. SeaChange is DISH Network's exclusive ad insertion technology provider, having delivered ads for the satellite TV provider since it launched its DBS service back in 1996.
--VividLogic's Offerings Include tru2way, MHP and Wireless Gateway Solutions
VOD technology provider, SeaChange International, announced last week that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire all the outstanding shares of VividLogic, a privately owned, California-based provider of software and services to cable operators, set-top box manufacturers and consumer electronics suppliers, whose competitors include Alticast, ADB's Osmosys and enableTV. According to SeaChange, VividLogic's software products include tru2way, MHP and Globally Executable MHP (GEM)-based IPTV operability for set-top box and CE manufacturers, in-home content protection and funded software development for the creation of service provider-sponsored home media gateways.

--Reports Lower Revenues, Swings to a Loss
VOD, IPTV and advanced advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, announced Tuesday that it has acquired all the issued share capital of eventIS, a privately owned Eindhoven, Netherlands-based company that provides VOD and linear broadcast software and services to cable and telco operators primarily in Europe. According to SeaChange, in 2008 eventIS generated US GAAP revenues of approximately $13 million and turned a profit. The company has around 70 full-time employees.
Geneva-based Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) on Tuesday announced the line-up of demo's it is planning for its booth (Stand 5.B48) at next month's IBC show in Amsterdam.
--Claims New Axiom on Demand Feature Guarantees "Anytime, Anyplace" Video QoS
VOD and advanced advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, on Wednesday announced the availability of a new universal session resource manager (uSRM), which it says will allow operators of managed networks to deliver the best possible video experience to consumers regardless of when they are watching or on what kind of device. The company says that the uSRM will allow operators to guarantee QoS across access, aggregation and edge networks for cable, IP and wireless delivery of video.
--Company's Fiscal Q1 Was Seventh Consecutive Quarter of Profitability
Video-on-demand, IPTV and digital advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, has released financial results for its fiscal first quarter (2010), ended April 30th:
VOD, IPTV and digital advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, announced Tuesday that it has achieved TL 9000 certification.
VOD technology provider, SeaChange International, said Wednesday that its content-services subsidiary, On Demand Group (ODG), has signed a new four-year contract to provide content management services for UK cable operator Virgin Media's VOD service. ODG has been providing content management services--including rights management, editorial service management, promo production, encoding, metadata generation and content preparation--for the service since the latter's launch in February, 2007. The company says that its VZ VOD Content Management System, combined with SeaChange's TV Business System VOD marketing platform, provides a "seamless" workflow for the management of Virgin's VOD offering.
VOD technology provider, SeaChange International, announced Monday that it has appointed cable-industry veteran, Ed Dunbar, to the newly created position of president and COO. The company's founder, Bill Styslinger, will continue as chairman and CEO. "We're delighted that Ed has joined SeaChange at such an important time in our history, as VOD television becomes more mainstream and global," Styslinger said in a prepared statement. "Ed's extensive experience with the world's largest VOD operator will serve SeaChange immensely as we look to harness the growth in VOD worldwide."
--Round-Up of Recent SeaChange News
VOD, IPTV and digital advertising technology provider, SeaChange International, said Thursday that its software and systems are being used by Midcontinent Communications, a cable operator that operates networks in North and South Dakota and Minnesota and that serves around 240,000 subscribers, for a major project that has seen Midcontinent significantly increasing the amount of HD content available to its subscribers from its centralized VOD operation. According to SeaChange, Midcontinent has added nearly 9,000 hours of capacity to each of its five video server systems, all of which are managed by a single SeaChange software platform.

VOD technology provider, SeaChange International, has released financial results for its fiscal second quarter (2009), ended July 31st:
- Combined revenues totaled $50.7 million, compared to $44.2 million for the year-ago quarter.
VOD technology provider, SeaChange International, says that its
wholly owned subsidiary, On Demand Group (ODG), has been tapped
to provide an outsourced VOD solution to Greece's largest telco,
Hellenic Telecommunication Organisation (note: the latter, generally
referred to by its Greek acronym, OTE, maintains 5 million fixed lines
and has around 700,000 broadband customers). OTE is planning to roll
out VOD services as part of a new IPTV offering. "We are very excited
to be working with OTE on its forthcoming VOD service in Greece,"
ODG managing director, Tony Kelly, said in a prepared statement.
