BBC Names Erik Huggers Director of Future Media & Technology

--Also Taps Roly Keating to be its First Director of Archive Content The BBC has promoted Erik Huggers to the position of director of
BBC Future Media & Technology. Huggers, who was previously the
division's group controller, replaces Ashley Highfield, who has left the
BBC to become CEO of Kangaroo, the working title for a new VOD
joint venture between the BBC, commercial broadcaster, ITV (note: the
acronym stands for "Independent Television Network), and Channel 4. His new role also sees Huggers joining the BBC Executive Board. He
will be responsible for all the Corporation's output on interactive TV
platforms, the Internet, mobile, broadband (including the BBC iPlayer)
