Just One Week Left to Submit Your Entry for the TVOT NYC 2014 Interface Showcase!

  • Contest Honors the Best TV and Video UI/UX Designs of 2014
  • Deadline for Submissions Is Tuesday, November 18th

The deadline for submitting entries to the Interface Showcase at TVOT NYC 2014 is just one week away! This popular contest and TVOT NYC session honors the best TV and video User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) designs of the past year.

Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Z1nSVcxDo to view a video introduction to the Interface Showcase from Wes Williams, Director of Product Management at Scripps Networks Interactive, who will be leading the special Interface Showcase session at TVOT NYC 2014:

Here's more on how the Interface Showcase works:

1) Through November 18th, companies and individuals are invited to submit their nominations--including both deployed and not-yet-deployed projects, and even imaginative visions of television's design future--to swedlow@itvt.com. Nominations should include:

  • a link to a video or videos, a slide presentation, screenshots or a mock-up of the nominated project;
  • a short description of the nominated project;
  • a short explanation of what makes it a great and groundbreaking UI/UX design.

NOTE: Please send as individual files and not embedded in a PDF.

2) TVOT's "Dragons of Design" (our braintrust of prominent TV and video designers from such companies as CNN, Cisco, You.i, Trollback+Company, W12 Studios, and others) will then select finalists in several categories (e.g. best UI's/UX's for Recommendations/Metadata/Discovery, for Social TV and Advertising, for TV Everywhere, for Smart TV, and more: the exact categories will be determined by [itvt] and the Dragons of Design based on the range of nominations received).

3) Each finalist will receive one free ticket to the show.

4) In a special session at TVOT NYC 2014 (December 9th in New York City--purchase your tickets here!  http://tvotnyc2014.eventbrite.com), the "Dragons of Design" will evaluate and debate the finalists and select a grand prize winner.

5) In addition to being honored at TVOT NYC 2014, winners and finalists will be showcased on the [itvt] and TVOT Web sites, as well as in a special issue of the [itvt] newsletter that will be published in the New Year.
