Sportskool, a Grace Creek Media-owned VOD content provider that specializes in sports training/instruction videos (note: for more on Grace Creek's acquisition of the company from Rainbow Media, see the article published on itvt.com, January 2nd, 2009), recently launched two new, original channels--Sportskool Yoga and Sportskool Fitness--on the Roku OTT platform.

Sportskool Yoga offers yoga instruction and "lifestyle" programming, while Sportskool Fitness is billed as offering workouts and cross-training programs for all ages and skill levels. Each channel is available for a subscription of $2.99 per month. "We are proud to launch these two new channels, which we've designed specifically for viewing on streaming media devices," Sportskool president, Andrew Walworth, said in a prepared statement. "Streaming media to the TV screen through devices like Roku presents an enormous opportunity for the Sportskool brand, and allows us to develop and present new programming targeted at specific communities of interest."

In other Sportskool news: The company says that it has entered the Asian pay-TV market via recent launches on Singapore's StarHub and Hong Kong's PCCW Now TV. "With this double entrance into Asia we anticipate further growth in markets throughout the world," Grace Creek Media CEO and Sportskool president, Andrew Walworth, said in a prepared statement. "The Sportskool brand is built on world-class international athletes and instructors and is a perfect fit for the global audience. We're extremely pleased to begin the international roll-out of Sportskool with two of Asia's most dynamic and well-respected providers." (h/t Multichannel News)
