[itvt] Presents INdustry, a New Column by Interactive TV Industry Veteran, Michael Collette

--First Edition of the Column Focuses on Automatic Content Recognition and its Significance for ITV

[itvt] is pleased to present INDUSTRY, our new column by interactive TV industry veteran, Michael Collette, managing director of MediaTech Strategies.

The first edition of the column sees Collette focusing on the emerging phenomenon of automatic content recognition (ACR) and its significance for the interactive TV space and for the television industry as a whole: "The odd thing about connected TV's," he writes, "is that while they do a fine job of connecting to the Internet, so far they really aren't connected to the TV industry...That is about to change, thanks to a new brace of startups and a few incumbent mediatech vendors that are bringing to market new technologies that will allow TV's to determine what a viewer is actually watching."

(Note: We are not publishing daily news today, as the [itvt] editorial team is busy working on the TV of Tomorrow Show. Our news coverage will return shortly.)
