January 26, 2026 Issue 50.01 (Monday) marks our 5,000th issue—a journey that began in June 1998.
What started as an email newsletter in San Francisco on my tiny desk on a Macintosh Centris 650 (which I still have somewhere) has grown into a worldwide community, encompassing daily news, TVOT Shows, TVOT CONNECT discussions and Televisionation interviews.
I’ll never forget how I secured my first 10-20 subscribers: I literally called people in the industry on the phone, who I thought would be interested, and said “Would you like to subscribe for free to my new email newsletter about the interactive TV business and medium of TV?” All said “Yes!” and we were off.
Today, ITVT reflects the full multiplatform TV ecosystem—spanning broadcast and cable, connected TV, streaming platforms, FAST and SVOD channels, measurement and advanced TV topics, innovation of all kinds, and the data and technology powering them.
We’re deeply grateful to our thousands of subscribers across the globe—from the upper echelons of the TV industry to those passionately engaged in the trajectory of the medium, the technology behind it, and the industry that makes it all possible.
