Televisionation: Carter Pilcher, Founder and CEO of ShortsTV

June 11, 2020

ITVT is pleased to present another episode of “Televisionation,” our new video/audio podcast exploring the advanced/interactive-TV industry in the Coronavirus/Covid-19 Era. This episode features Carter Pilcher, Founder and CEO of short-film entertainment company, Shorts International, best known for its flagship 24/7 HD channel (100 million homes), ShortsTV (note: the company, which claims to have the world’s largest catalog of short films, also offers content for download online; produces the annual Oscar Nominated Short Films theatrical release; and operates its own production arm, Shorts Factory). Among other things, Pilcher discusses ShortsTV’s global footprint and how the service is being received in India (where it’s available in 65 million homes) and its various other markets; explains what it is about short content that engages viewers; and describes the company’s plans going forward. (Note: If you would like to share your thoughts on how the Coronavirus/Covid-19 crisis will change the TV and advertising industries, and tell us what your company—or you yourself—are doing to prepare for this new reality, please contact us at tracyswedlow@gmail.com.)
