Televisionation nScreenNoise: Magid’s Mike Bloxham on SVOD Customers and Churn

July 9, 2024

As the SVOD market shifts from customer acquisition toward revenue growth, providers need to be more conscious of which consumers they target in their marketing.

In this nScreenNoise interview with Colin Dixon, Founder and Chief Analyst of nScreenMedia, Mike Bloxham, EVP of Global Media, Entertainment, and Gaming at Magid, explains why a large group of potential customers likely to churn is still worth targeting in marketing campaigns.

Note: Colin Dixon is our partner in TVOT CONNECT, our new, online, TV-industry membership community that aims to encourage conversation, debate, networking and collaboration across all sectors of the advanced-TV space. The membership fee is $40 per month; however, the initial sessions are being offered to ITVT and nScreenMedia readers free of charge (visit our membership page here).

TVOT CONNECT sessions take place on Thursdays at 2:00PM Eastern/11:00AM Pacific using Zoom. Members first have an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves, their current work and their areas of expertise; this is followed by an interview with one or more prominent industry leaders, featuring audience Q&A; finally, members are able to access discussion rooms where they can share their thoughts on the day’s interview and network with their peers.

Our next TVOT CONNECT session, taking place this Thursday (July 11th), is entitled “Fair Use or Abuse? Gen-AI-LLMs and Your Content.” It will feature Holly Leff-Pressman, Chief Client Engagement Officer at Screen Engine/ASI, and Daniel Goldberg, Chair of the Privacy and Data Security Group at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, in conversation with Colin Dixon and with ITVT Editor-in-Chief, Tracy Swedlow.
