Talk Back to Television welcomes Mark Loughney from our sponsor Hub Entertainment Research. Mark takes us through his recent Hub White Paper on TV consumers and economic pressures. From Hub’s quarterly “Churn Tracking Study,” Mark sees (not surprisingly) that consumer “vibes” about the economy are not good. But when Hub looks at television subscriptions, they see that even consumers who are feeling more threatened by the economy ARE EVERY BIT AS LIKELY SUBSRCRIBE TO MULTIPLE STREAMING SERVICES as their “less worried” neighbors. The Good Doctor is reminded that the industry used to consider pay TV “inflation-proof”; I guess that hasn’t changed over the years.
