Vizio’s WatchFree+ is the engine powering the company’s transformation into a service business. The company’s Group VP explains why the FAST service is expanding outside Vizio Smart TVs.
CONTEXT: It has been six years since Vizio launched its WatchFree+ service on the company’s SmartCast-powered TVs. In that time, the FAST service has expanded to provide over 300 linear channels and 15,000 on-demand titles. It has also helped Vizio’s platform business become the profit engine for the company and drive meaningful increases in average revenue per unit in every quarter since its introduction. WatchFree+ has become an essential part of the Vizio TV experience and has only been available within that experience until now.
